‘Alternian Life’ — Redglare section (American Pie rewrite)
This is a sample from cover I’ve been working on for about two-three weeks now. I’ve rewritten the 9min long version of ‘American Pie’ to be about Signless’ death, with POV parts from Disciple, Condesce, Redglare, Mindfang, Psionic and Dolorosa. I’m trrrying to voice all of them, but a few are giving me grief (hahaha hello Psionic).
Still, Redglare turned out well, so here’s her section!
Now for some sweeps we’ve been on our own
He falls from all of our planet’s tomes
But that’s not how it used to be
When Grand Highblood and his tyrian Queen
Tried hard to stop the rioting
Always trying to stifle you and me
Oh and whether innocent or not
He would be killed if he was caught
The courtroom was adjourned
No verdict was returned
And so then the Signless was murdered
In their grasp tragically ensnared
They sacrificed him to Darkleer
The day the Signless died
We were singing
Bye, bye
Old Alternian life
Chanted mem’ries, each and ev’ry
‘Til his very demise
And his followers were listening the whole time
Singin’ this’ll be the day that we die
This’ll be the day that we die
